Fall horseback riding

When we moved to Fort Worth, we discovered that one of John's best friends from high school has a brother who lives here. John and Brandon (the brother) have become good friends now too, and it's nice to have another family with West Coast roots to hang out with.

Brandon's oldest son turned 5 in October, and they threw his birthday party at a horse riding stable. It was so much fun for the kids! The party itself (games, cupcakes, etc.) was set up in a little barn:

And right outside, the kids took turns riding two horses. Birthday boy first:

Followed by Josh, with Daddy at the lead:

You would practice roping a haystack bull, or watch the farm dog play dead:

Lucas's horse was named Pedro, and he LOVED it. He still remembers Pedro's name and really enjoyed his first horseriding experience.

He is so tiny up there!

Yee haw!

After the horse rides, there was a hayride around the farm:

It was such a fun day. I'm looking forward to taking the boys riding again this spring. They both enjoyed the time with the horses.
